Student Engagement: Fall Fun Week this year is October 15-18! The week will be filled with fun dress-up days, activities, and the Fall Activity Day on Friday Oct 18th with our Mitchell Middle School friends.

You can then choose Bus Delay Bulletins where it will be posted with the approximate delay time. Thank you for checking this option before calling the Hanover School Division Transportation Department with your questions regarding bus delays.
BUS EVACUATION DRILLS For those students travelling to and from school on the bus, there will be a bus evacuation drill on Thurs., Oct. 24th.
Quotes heard in the halls and on the front steps of MES in the past week:
“I feel safe here.” “I love my new teacher.”
“What a great class!” “What a great start.” “Being a grandpa is the BEST thing ever.”
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we are so thankful for great starts and the healthy relationships all around us. There are many other things we are thankful for here at MES and student engagement is one of them.
One of the ways we celebrate social, emotional, academic, & intellectual engagement is through assemblies. Assemblies are open to everyone and the calendar of assemblies is highlighted on our school website calendar. So, consider this your personal invitation to join us for our Thanksgiving assembly coming up October 11 at 11:00am We hope to see you then.
This Friday, September 27, MES will take part in the Terry Fox Run at 10:30. In the case of poor weather, the run will either be postponed to the afternoon or the following week.
Students can bring in Toonies for Terry to help raise money for cancer research. MES will be making a paper chain that will be outlining the course. The chain represents the many heroes involved in the fight against cancer: those who have battled it or are battling it (white links), and the classes and students who have raised money or awareness by participating in the Run (red links). Students will have the opportunity to write the names of their loved ones who have battled or are battling cancer on the white links, and their own names and class names on the red links. Our goal is for students to have a visual of how many people among us have been affected, and how much love and support surrounds us. We hope to conquer cancer by linking together.
Please feel free to join us, this Thursday at 10:30!
